Fashion School: Listen!

Jeff and I attended the Slims Lecture Series 3 on Fashion Dressing Tradition and Social History last month. It was a feast for my fashion hungry mind and I guess, it was a feast for Jeff as well as he played fashion police whispering every concerned comment to my ear. Yes Jeff, I felt your concern for those poor kids. Had no cam and no Karen that day to take photos for me. I also don't think it's proper for me to post their pics here and talk about (not really mock about) their excessive fashion ideas all expressed in one outfit or their lack of concern for their tiring little feet or their inability to move because of the body hugging dress (couldn't imagine how she put it on).

Am no Liz Uy (but am dreaming to be one...and who wouldn't want to be Liz Uy after having a Lloydie) to tell them what to wear. Fashionistas (in every sense of the word) read fashion magazines to tell them what to wear and how to look but I guess, a lot are missing the point of what fashion really is...Am nobody to tell you what it is, just listen to a fashion icon and here is what she has to say....

"Fashion has become a joke. The designers have forgotten that there are women inside the dresses. Most women dress for men and want to be admired. But they must also be able to move, to get into a car without bursting their seams! Clothes must have a natural shape." - Coco Chanel
