Philippine Fashion Week was a showcase of talents and creative minds. Every collection was presented in different ways, introducing the creator's design philosophy. There were shows that were theatrical while others went festive. I was drawn to those that had less of the add-ons (the drama and all that jazz). It made me appreciate the designs more.
Prior to the show, I watched the attendees strut their way down their own little runway - several went chic while most went "overly done" - showcasing costume rather than clothes. I know fashion should be fun - a play of ideas and inspirations. But being too conscious of what you have slipped on does not spell fun at all. To understand my point, read the article "Secrets of French Girls" By Ellen Wallace. I came across it as I was browsing through Manila Fashion Observer.
