Last year

Last year...it's now part of one's long-term memory - filed in one of those folders in our brain that says "PAST". Funny, cause just a few weeks ago, the past was just the present and today was the future. Time just flies so fast.

Last year was a year of many changes - of crazy opportunities. I hope this year would bring in a lot more...a lot more craziness...and a lot more learning.

Sharing photos of last year's Christmas. I always spend it with family!

Gifts or Contributions???

Of course they know what I'm interested in - they're my cousins, my super close cousins! Last Christmas, Manong Ryan gifted me with this...
And this year, Jeng (my best cousin for 4 months...hehehe!) made another dream come true!
She gave me a handy garment steamer!!! Goodbye creases!!!

They do not just know my interests, they also know what I need! Thanks cousins for all your contributions - gifts pala! hehehe

Not the Time to be Lousy!

"I look lousy", was the first thing I heard as soon as she slipped on what we kept looking for for hours, she in her flats and I in my pair of lace-up wedge. It was a statement honestly and irritatingly delivered. My eyes studied the pieces that covered her stick-like figure - a gray body con skirt paired with a baby pink cropped top with a big black bow. It was 2 days before Christmas Eve and after hours of shopping she still didn't have what she needed - a fantabulous outfit that was photo-worthy.

It has been part of our family tradition that we get to dress up during Christmas and New Year. I had to insert that trivia for one to understand my sister's pressure and panic. Been there, solved that. I took out a "soon-to-be launched" piece from my online shop and a few ideas from my stylist's mind and confidently handed them to her. Well, I was expecting silence but the blah, blah, blah continued. Did I fail as a stylist? Then I realized, I handed her a piece but the other was just an idea. She wouldn't shut up unless she sees the transformation of the idea into something tangible. Sharing you photos of my family during Christmas Eve.

I wore an animal print button-down semi-sheer top from F-stop, black tights from SM Department Store, a gold cuff from SM Department Store and a pair of black cut-out heels from People are People.

My sister was in a white lace top from Vintage Classic Finds, gray body-con skirt from Pink Manila, black knitted over-sized cardigan from Forever21 and pumps from Schu.

Lil bro is starting to be conscious of what he wears - shirt and gray sneakers from Topman, pants from Marks and Spencer (a gift from Ate Gretty). Obviously, he has influential sisters!!! hehehe.

My sister is not alone in her panic over what to wear for Christmas. We have a bunch of girls in our family wanting to look fantabulous!

The Singson Family minus Ate Chi (she's in Vietnam). I wonder what she wore for Christmas? A Venus cut dress perhaps?
The Valera Girls in black and white with Che splashing some color. Isis in a button down shirt dress from Gingersnaps, jeans and a pair of white chucks. Obviously, not so girly.
We were so used to hearing the word "compress" when taking family photos, but this year, there were empty spaces. Since Manong Ryan has his own family now, some adjustments had to be made in terms of family traditions. Since Tata Chi decided to explore the world, we usually have her only through phone patch. Joseph and Mark didn't make it this year. It has been years that JP's spot has been empty. And this year, Manong Al's place was empty as well. Looking forward to that day, when all would yell "present!" with a plus one or more.

Profile: Plus 1

As we grow older (and more mature) Christmas becomes less about us and more about others. In our family, it becomes more about the kids. This year, we had a new addition to our ever growing family - Dala. When you have a fashionista mom and fabulous titas, you have no choice but "fumasyon"!
Several days old

Arte naman how you yawn!

Funny girl. Came as a sunflower from plants vs. zombies during our Family Halloween party.

Talk about statement Shoes!

The baby girl's first Christmas. Came as baby Santa!

During the holiday seasons, kids would typically be so busy making their Christmas wish list, tugging mom and dad along to the toy store, or sneaking during the night to find out if Santa has left them a gift. My little niece has been busy with the first two but instead of just tugging her mom and dad along the toy store, she wishes to bring along the whole family - all aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas. At a very young age, it has been revealed to her or should I say, found out herself (with all her wit) that everyone is a Santa and that Santa doesn’t just come along during Christmas but the whole year round. She experiences gift-giving every day . She always has a wish list and most of the time her wishes are granted by all her Santas or should I say Genies. She’s not a typical little girl who only delights at the thought of receiving toys. This Christmas season, she received a lot of what older girls would have on their wish list – CLOTHES and she just loves them!
