I Cant' Quiet It Down

The fashion world is not meant for a little (little in the literal sense) girl like. I can't strut down runways or maintain a certain diet. I can't draw nor sketch. My fingers were trained and designed to create just letters and stick figures. But the fashion world has always fascinated me. I knew I wanted to part of it, not as a model not even as a designer. Something about it was calling me but the voice quieted down at one point in my life, then it was silent.
For years I took a path I thought was paved perfectly for me. But along the way, I felt I was unhappy, something inside me was troubled as if wanting to speak. I wanted to listen to what it had to say but was too scared to find out that the road I chose to take was not meant for me. It was difficult giving up an area of your life that you have invested so much in. It was too scary to take an adventure, to leave what you know too well behind. I was afraid of leaving my comfort zone. But the voice inside me would not just quiet down. I love what I'm doing right now. But there will always be one thing that I would love the most. I want to be part of the fashion world, not to strut down runways or to create designs. I'm not after the fame nor the perks. I just want to be drowned in a sea of artistic people and pieces. I want to breathe in what inspires them that in turn, I would inspire others. If designers find inspiration from the beauty of the world and acknowledge it in their designs, my role in the fashion world is to inspire people to see the beauty in them as I translate it in the styles i come up with.
One day I would be part of it. I just decided to take the road less traveled, the road full of adventures. It requires much from me but I just can't silence the voice within me. I pray the same thing for you. Listen to the voice inside you. It may require you to leave your comfort zone, to embark on challenges but I guess it does all these to lead you to a better place. A place where you were really designed to be, to do something that you were always designed to do.
