The AdventuristangFashionista Realizes...

It always starts with an idea, a concept, a sketch. Then you want to make it happen, you see a glimpse of the end result...and then the process. Some people stop at that point, others continue...

...And when they do, they know that the process is difficult – tiring, strenuous, grueling. It requires so much from them, at times it demands more than what they first offered, what they thought they only can offer. Then they find themselves embracing all those difficulties, stressing themselves with what others think is unnecessary. They, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of all the tasks to be done, pause and ask themselves the very question others are asking them – “why?” Three words – service, commitment and gratitude. Then a peaceful silence - no more questions, no more doubts.

SERVICE. One serves because he has something to offer. The more one serves, the more one realizes he has more to give than what he first offered. Opportunities to serve open your eyes to things you never thought you could do or gifts you never thought you had.

COMMITMENT. Kenneth Blanchard once said, “There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient.Commitment is the energy that keeps one going no matter how shaky or bumpy the path is. One who is committed looks beyond the challenges and sets his eyes on what is at the end of the road – He sees his vision.

GRATITUDE. For all that you have become, for all the opportunities that opened for you, for all the people who believed in you, and to the ONE who bestowed you with such gift, you can only say “thank you” - two simple words that can stir up a heart to serve.

The UP Filipiniana Dance Concert, “Bagong Mukha, Lumang Likha” wasn’t just a showcase of Filipino talent o pakitang gilas ng isang tiga-UP. It was far more than an exhibit of excellence. The concert was a demonstration of SERVICE, COMMITMENT, and GRATITUDE.

To all those who offered their time, their talents, their love and their support, "MARAMING SALAMAT!".
